China Will Always Stand By Bangladesh: Xi Jinping

Chinese President Xi Jinping has stated that even if the global situation changes, China will never deviate from its commitment to friendship and cooperation with Bangladesh. He said that China will always stand by Bangladesh as a reliable friend, a good neighbor, and a development partner.

Xi Jinping made these remarks during a bilateral meeting with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday at 10 AM local time in China.

During the meeting, the Chinese President said that China supports Bangladesh’s efforts to safeguard its independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. At the same time, Beijing opposes any form of foreign interference.

Xi Jinping stated that China is ready to exchange experiences on state governance, enhance communication at all levels, deepen strategic dialogue, and further solidify political mutual trust. He also mentioned that mutual support on the fundamental interests and major concerns of both countries would continue.

He said that China follows a policy of fostering a friendly, secure, and prosperous environment with its neighboring countries. The continuity of China’s development will create new opportunities and growth potential for neighboring states.

Expressing support for the Bangladeshi new government’s efforts in state governance, Xi Jinping said that China wants to further advance cooperation between the two countries under the high-quality Belt and Road Initiative.

Furthermore, he stated that China is interested in working on the development of the China-Myanmar-Bangladesh Economic Corridor to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in healthcare, education, culture, and at the local government level, as well as to enhance regional connectivity.

During the meeting, the Chinese President also expressed interest in further strengthening communication and coordination with Bangladesh within various multilateral international frameworks, including the United Nations.

According to relevant sources, strategic partnership, economic cooperation, and enhancing regional connectivity between the two countries were given importance in the meeting.
